Karakol lake, Xinjiang, West China Yak grazing on a high plateau in the Tian Shan mountains in West China near the Pakistan nad Kyrgyz borders. Indigenous nomads live here year round at an altitude of over 3000m. In summer they take their cattle (yaks and goats and sheep) higher into the mountains.
